"Ys VIII: Lacrimosa of Dana" will be coming to the West in fall for the PlayStation 4, PlayStation Vita, and the PC. Limited Editions for the PS4 and PS Vita were also revealed.
NIS America will be bringing the video game physically and digitally to the PS4 and PS Vita, and to the PC through Steam in North America and Europe this fall, according to the official blog of the game company. They are excited to bring it over the West after eight years since the last brand-new "Ys" video game title. They will release the video game with dual audio, which are English and Japanese, and it will have in-game text in English and French.
The game company revealed a limited edition for the PS4 and the PS Vita as well. Players will have to pay $99.99 to pre-order the PS4 version of the video game, while the PS Vita version will be $79.99 only, according to the game company's official website. The package will include the copy of the video game, The Cods of Adol Christin: Periplus of the Goethe Writing Materials hardcover art book, a softcover art book, some acrylic bookends, the original soundtrack, a 33"x40" cloth poster, a SteelBook collector's case, and the uniquely designed collector's box.
NIS America also revealed more details of "Ys VIII: Lacrimosa of Dana." The male protagonist's name is Adol and he wakes up after getting shipwrecked and stranded on a cursed island. He and the other shipwrecked passengers that he rescued will form a village to challenge the fearsome beasts on the isolated island.
The villagers find mysterious ruins scattered in the island as they explore it thoroughly during their stay. In the middle of these adventures, Adol begins to dream of a mysterious blue-haired maiden living in an unknown world.
The video game will have many key features and one of them is the epic tale of Adol and his companions on their latest adventure to unlock the mysteries of the cursed island. Players will also tackle on unraveling the mystery of the blue-haired maiden Dana through her own, unique gameplay segments.
Players will have to rescue several of Adol's fellow shipwrecked passengers scattered around the island in "Ys VIII: Lacrimosa of Dana." Bring them to their newly-built village where they will provide valuable services. They can also switch characters right away as they battle different types of enemies in fast combat.
