Kpop group Girl's Day member Hyeri is taking on another acting gig. After honing her skills on TV, the idol-turned-actress may make her silver screen debut through the upcoming film tentatively titled "Monster."
After starring in tvN's "Reply 1988" and SBS's "Entertainer," Hyeri is said to be receiving a lot of love calls from various dramas and movies in South Korea. In particular, she has been offered the female lead role in an upcoming fantasy film "Monster."
"She has received an offer for the female lead role in the movie and is currently reviewing it," a source from DreamT Entertainment said in a press statement obtained by Soompi. "However, she is also looking at other projects. She is reviewing a role in a drama as well."
Directed by Huh Jong Ho, "Monster" is based on an actual case that took place in the year of 1527. At the time, King Jungjong moved to another place to maintain a strategic distance from an unknown creature that showed up in the royal court. More details about the project will be revealed soon.
Currently, Hyeri is busy working on Girl's Day comeback. The four-member girl group is back in the studio recording brand new material for their third album, which they are aiming to release in late March or early April.
"Girls' Day is currently recording their new songs," The Korea JoongAng Daily quoted a representative from DreamT Entertainment as saying before a group of local media. "The title track, however, has still not been decided and their exact comeback date is not set in stone."
The girl group's upcoming album would be their first in two years since their previous studio album "Love Second Album," which was released in July 2015. In between that and this year's comeback, Minah, Yura, Sojin and Hyeri have been focusing on their individual careers.
