In 2013, Lee Min Ho, 29, and Park Shin Hye, 27, starred in the SBS hit series "The Heirs." Fans yearned for a second season, but like many other hit Korean TV series, it appears to be forgotten as new hit series emerge.
But recently, an international survey named Lee and Park as today's top South Korean actor and top South Korean actress, respectively. More than 4,700 Korean Wave fans who are based in the United States participated in the survey conducted by the Korea Creative Content Agency, The Strait Times has learned.
This reminded "The Heirs" fans that Lee and Park should reunite for a second season of the SBS hit series. This seems unlikely to happen, however, as the two have other new series with fans demanding for a second season aside from the fact that Korean TV series, even after international success, rarely get a second season.
After "The Heirs," Lee temporarily said goodbye to TV drama series. From 2013-2016, he appeared in several web series and films.
Lee starred in the web series "Line Romance" in 2014, "Innisfree Summer Love" in 2015 and "First Seven Kisses" in 2016. On the big screen starred in "Gangnam Blues" in 2015 and "Bounty Hunters" in 2016.
In 2016, Lee returned to the small screen. He starred in "The Legend of the Blue Sea" opposite Jun Ji Hyun, 35.
On the other hand, Park continued to appear in several TV series and films after "The Heirs." In 2016, she starred in the film "My Annoying Brother" and the TV series "Entertainer," "Gogh, The Starry Night" and "Doctor Crush."
On Feb. 17, Park was in Thailand to film for the brand Mamonde. It is the botanical-based Korean beauty brand used and endorsed by the actress, according to Buro.
