Apple is now preparing a program that will let consumers trade-in their non-Apple smartphones for gift cards that can be used as credits in order to purchase new iPhones.
After listening to its consumer's demand to create an iPhone with a larger screen. This new trade-in plan is Apple's next logical step to court Android device users into leaping over their enormous sized iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus.
The program of recycling and reusing old iPhones in exchange of credits to purchase the latest models has already been implemented by Apple during the year 2013, according to Mashable. The program prompted the upgrade to iPhone 5, iPhone 5S and iPhone 5C and became a successful tool for expanding Apple's sales over the US , Canada, Europe and Australia.
What is clear now is that the multinational corporation is planning to imitate that success by extending its borders ; offering the recycling and reusing program to non-Apple smartphone users to compete against its rival companies such as Samsung and Blackberry.
Part of the trade-in program are extensive training on how to transfer the stored data from non-Apple devices into the iPhone.
According to 9to5mac, though the price range of these Android devices may vary, Apple said that they are still creating an algorithm to support their trading value.
The program is projected to increase conversion rates from Android and Blackberry user to iOS and is expected to boost sales of Apple smartphones.
Apple's trade-in program for non-Apple devices is set to be launched in a couple of weeks.
