Gina "Conviction" Iniong had her fifth MMA win at "ONE Championship: Kings of Destiny" on April 21, Friday, at the Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City, Metro Manila, Philippines. She defeated her fellow Filipino fighter Natalie "The Kilapino" Gonzales Hills via unanimous decision in the strawweight division.
"To all the fans, thank you for your cheer and support," Iniong said in a statement exclusively obtained by Yibada. "Malaking tulong po 'yon para sa amin. Lalong ginaganahan kami dahil sa mga supporta niyo." (That was a great help to us. We gain more enthusiasm because of your support.)
It was on Feb. 19, 2010 when Iniong made her debut as a professional MMA fighter. She defeated her fellow Filipino fighter Sonrex "The Slingshot" Patanao via choke submission at "URCC MMA."
On July 15, 2010, Iniong had her first MMA loss. She lost to Xiaonan "Fury" Yan of China via unanimous decision at "Singapore Regional."
From 2011 to 2012, Iniong took a hiatus from professional MMA. She made her comeback on Nov. 9, 2013 at "PXC 41" where she defeated Nathalie "Mystique" Heidel of France in the atomweight division.
On March 29, 2014, Iniong defeated Mei "V.V." Yamaguchi of Japan via split decision at "PXC 43" in the catchweight division. On Nov. 15, 2014, Cortney "Cast Iron" Casey from the United States defeated Iniong via choke submission at "PXC 46" in the catchweight division.
A bout between Iniong and Tessa "The Typhoon" Simpson of the United States was scheduled on Dec. 14, 2015 at "PXC 50" but it was cancelled. On Jan. 16, 2016, Iniong returned to the ring and defeated Vanessa Rico Fernandez of Spain via submission at "PXC 51" in the atomweight division.
At "ONE Championship: Kings of Destiny," Iniong and all her four fellow Team Lakay members emerged as winners. Eduard Folayang, Kevin Belingon, Honorio Banario and Danny Kingad defeated Ev Ting, Toni Tauru, Jaroslav Jartim and Muhammad Aiman, respectively.
