With Joe and Anthony Russo taking over Joss Whedon as directors of one of Marvel's biggest films, Marvel has officially announced that the two-part "Avengers: Infinity War" will be piloted.
Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige stated his thoughts on the upcoming "Infinity War" movie while writer-director Whedon said that there will be no post-credit scene for "Avengers: Age of Ultron."
According to Feige, he and the company always had a framework for the big Marvel Cinematic Universe, as per Empire Online. He also added that "Avengers: Infinity Part I" will serve as the foundation on how things that have transpired in the earlier movies reach their end. It is also said that Thanos will be having the Infinity Gauntlet in his hands. If he becomes unstoppable, then his disposition of destruction will actualize.
The directors are assumed to have a busy schedule with their upcoming projects. Aside from the "Infinity War," they are going to film for the third installment of "Captain America," the "Civil War." In addition, the Russos are said to be developing a "Ghostbuster" project with Sony Pictures.
It is now official that the duo will direct the "Infinity War," but there is no information yet on who will be in charge in penning the screenplay. With the writers still unknown, Christopher Markus as well as Stephen McFreely are considered to the scribes for the film as they have given success to previous Marvel films such as the "Captain America" franchise.
Meanwhile, Whedon said that there will be no post-credit scene in the upcoming "Avengers: Age of Ultron, according to Entertainment Weekly. For the writer-director, the shawarma scene after the battle was untopped. He and the crew made an attempt to make something that can top it, but they could not find a way.
"We all came at it separately," Whedon said. "We don't want to chase that."
However, Feige made it clear that short scenes will appear briefly following the start of the credit.
"Avengers: Age of Ultron" will star Elizabeth Olsen, Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Jeremy Renner, Scarlett Johanson, Mark Ruffalo, Chris Hemsworth, Robert Downey Jr. and Chris Evans. It is to premiere on May 1.
"Avengers: Infinity War Part I" is slated to hit theaters on Apr. 27, 2018 while "Part II" is set to premiere on Apr. 26, 2019.
