“Avengers: Age of Ultron,” the highly anticipated sequel of the Walt Disney Pictures film title gathering the biggest Marvel heroes such as Iron Man, Hulk, Captain America, Thor, Black Widow and Hawkeye, premiered in Beijing on Sunday.
Director Joss Whedon and "Avengers" stars Robert Downey Jr. and Mark Ruffalo, who play the role of Iron Man and Hulk, respectively, graced the event to promote the film.
The premiere gathered a thousand of fans that eagerly waited for the two of the movie's main actors.
The reporters present on the movie premiere were allowed to watch 30 minutes of the film due to tight control by both Walt Disney and its distributors. The media men were able to see scenes from the opening battle involving the Avengers heroes.
Considered as the one of the most phenomenal fighting scenes on cinema so far, the encounter between the Hulk and Iron Man's Hulkbuster delighted the premiere attendees.
Asked about his experience in directing the Avengers sequel, Whedon shared: "My work is made much easier by the fact of all these movie stars."
"Because those stars are very good at movies, and they come already knowing about what their characters are, what their relationships are, they come supporting each other, trying to make each other look cool, trying to make scenes better, making my job much easier all the time," he added.
Meanwhile, Robert Downey Jr., who received the loudest applause and cheers, shared "historically, Captain America (Chris Evans) is a little better in giving commands--it is just kind of like at home with my wife."
He said the statement as a response to a fan who asked who is the team's real boss.
Given the chance to plan another character, Downey revealed that it would be Hawkeye (played by Jeremy Renner). On the other hand, Mark Ruffalo said that he would also love to take the role of Iron Man, because "he's so damn cool."
"Avengers: Age of Ultron" will be released on May 1 in the U.S. and on May 12 in China.
