All-China Women's Federation (ACWF) president Shen Yueyue held a series of research trips to government departments and agencies on April 29 as a response to Chinese president Xi Jinping's call to "strengthen family building, family education and family traditions."
Together with Jiao Yang, a member of the federation's secretariat, she visited central government offices as well as agencies covered by the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC).
In support of Xi's call, she urged the government officials to intensify their efforts in building more educated families. She also emphasized the need to improve work ethics to ultimately contribute in creating a better society.
The ACWF leader first went to the People's Bank of China and to the Ministry of Transport and shared stories and video presentations that are focused on how to popularize the country's finest family traditions.
Shen also attended a forum of with officials representing the government's working committees on women. During the talk, she recounted her experiences from the "Seek the Most Beautiful Families" advocacy and discussed the country's family education's and family building's status quo.
Meanwhile, the women's leader also called for the enhancement of the role of female government authorities. She has high hopes that the government could fully compensate these officials' needs and efficiently tap their potentials and capabilities in serving the country.
"Constant efforts must be made to pass on the best family traditions and strengthen family-building. This would help enhance the working style of CPC members and government officials, and make them better serve the country," she enthused.
