Universal Pictures recently confirmed the upcoming release of "Fifty Shades Darker" in 2017. Ahead of its release, there are rumors linking Charlize Theron to the role of Mrs. Robinson or Elena Lincoln. Meanwhile, Christian Grey (Jamie Dornan) is expected to go full frontal in the "much darker" sequel.
According to Melty, "Fifty Shades Darker" will introduce a more serious approach when it comes to the story of Christian and Anastasia Steele (Dakota Johnson). Several new characters will also be introduced in the sequel.
Also according to the publication, Theron is currently negotiating with the creators and producers of "Fifty Shades Darker," who believe that she could be a great addition to the cast.
Mrs. Robinson is the woman who introduced Christian to the world of BDSM while he was still a young boy. Later on, Mrs. Robinson and Christian became business partners and their relationship will impact that of Christian and Anastasia's, Design N Trend reported.
Other frontrunners for the role include Melanie Griffith, Sandra Bullock, Rose McGowan and Katie Holmes.
Meanwhile, there are several reports claiming that Dornan will go full-frontal in the upcoming sequel of "Fifty Shades of Grey" and was offered a hefty amount in order for him to say yes.
However, there is a slim chance for Dornan to go full frontal on "Fifty Shades Darker" because the film has to go through censorship first. Several sensitive scenes from "Fifty Shades of Grey" were previously banned from being shown in theaters because they were deemed offensive.
"Fifty Shades Darker" is coming to theaters in the United States in 2017. The third installment, "Fifty Shades Freed" is slated for release in 2018.
