Samsung has not announced when it will roll out the Android 5.1.1 Lollipop OS update to its devices, especially the Samsung Galaxy S4 I9505 version since the handset was released for in 2013, which puts the handset in the back burner in terms of receiving OS update.

Samsung is one of the Android OEM manufacturers that adopt the latest version of the operating system later than others tech companies. In the past, users are waiting for the OS update for too long for an update.

Thus, custom ROMs have become popular to users itching to get their hands to the new OS. However, users are constantly reminded that using custom ROMs may break your phone.

However, Samsung Galaxy S4 can enjoy some of the perks and features of the latest Android 5.1.1 Lollipop OS with the help of Resurrection Remix custom ROM. Based on CyanogenMod, you will get all the loveliness of Lollipop with CM features on top, according to WCCFTech.

Below is the step-by-step procedure in flashing Resurrection Remix custom ROM in Samsung Galaxy S4 I9505:

Step 1: Download the Android 5.1 Lollipop custom firmware for Galaxy S4 and Google Apps Package and save it on your computer without extracting the contents yet.

Step 2: Connect the Samsung Galaxy S4 to your computer using a USB cable and copy the zip file to your phone's SD card.

Step 3: Disconnect the handset and turn it off.

Step 4: Boot it into recovery mode: switch the phone on while pressing and holding Volume Up + Home + Power buttons simultaneously.

Step 5: Perform a Nandroid backup of your current OS: Backup > backup and restore on ClockworkMod recovery.

Step 6: In the CWM recovery menu, select wipe data / factory reset and confirm the process.

Step 7: From recovery menu, select install zip from SD card and locate the Resurrection Remix Android 5.1.1 Lollipop custom firmware and confirm the flashing process.

Step 8: Return back to main recovery menu and reboot your Galaxy S4 I9505 into the new custom ROM.
