"Fifty Shades Darker" promises to feature a thriller-based plot starring Christian Grey and Anastasia Steele. A recent teaser for the upcoming second installment featured Christian wearing a masquerade ball mask that will play a major part in the movie.
According to Venture Capital Post, the controversial black mask symbolizes Christian's mysterious character. This version of himself will be played greatly in the upcoming second installment of the "Fifty Shades" franchise.
Additionally, Christian will be inviting Ana to the masquerade ball where the two will meet Mrs. Robinson, the woman who introduced the former to the world of BDSM. Ideally, Ana will not be comfortable with Mrs. Robinson and the two will have a series of awkward encounters in "Fifty Shades Darker."
Meanwhile, "Fifty Shades Darker" will also introduce two new characters, namely, Leila Williams and Jack Hyde.
Leila and Christian were previously involved with each other, especially since Leila served as Christian's former submissive. However, the woman will turn into Christian's stalker and her presence in the sequel will also impact Anastasia in a huge way, IB Times reported.
On the other hand, Jack will work closely with Anastasia and he will try to flirt with her in "Fifty Shades Darker." Christian, who happens to be Jack's nemesis, will not be pleased with their budding friendship.
In other news, multiple publications have hinted on the possibility of showing uncut sex scenes from "Fifty Shades Darker." Fans have also urged Universal Pictures to consider this approach, saying that "Fifty Shades of Grey" became a massive success anyway.
"Fifty Shades Darker" has been confirmed for release by Universal Pictures on Feb.10, 2017. The third installment to the franchise "Fifty Shades Freed" will be released in February 2018.
