Maroon 5 has released the video of their new song, "This Summer's Gonna Hurt Like A Mother*****r" on Saturday, featuring Adam Levine, who took the opportunity to flash a few second-glimpse of his bare butt for his fans.
The video was dropped on Twitter to unsuspecting fans by Levine himself, who provided the link to the video along with the caption, "Oops... We dropped our new video." The song was first unveiled at "The Voice" recently, where the band performed it live.
As the video starts, Levine can be seen stepping out of a steamy shower wrapped in nothing but a cleverly wrapped white towel. As the singer proceeds to get dressed, he rips the towel off of him to reveal his bare butt.
The video is shot strategically to give only a few seconds of coverage to the singer's derriere. The rest of the video shows him getting dressed and heading out to a performance with the rest of the band where fans are shown going nuts about him. Watch the video below.
The video is co-directed by Levine and musician-artist Travis Schneider. According to Entertain This, the song's video and lyrics are so controversial and racy that heavy duty bleeping will be required for it to be telecasted on TV and radio channels. The song comes a day after the band announced that they are forced to cancel a tour date due to Levine's damaged vocal chords.
This is not the first time that Levine has shed off his clothing to shoot a video. In a video for "Animals" released in September last year, the singer played an unhinged butcher obsessed with a blond beauty, played by his model wife Behati Prinsloo, NewNowNext reported. Further in the video, Levine and Prinsloo were shown naked and making love as gallons of blood rain down on them.
