A new name in the cloud-based gaming market is making headways in the tech community after it claim that it will be the Netflix of gaming. The company known as GameFly has recently struck a deal with Amazon in order to fulfill that claim.
According to Silicon Angle, GameFly rental system will be offered in $6.99 bundles. These bundles will contain certain games that gamers can play for a month of subscription. Players who purchased a bundle can play the games included on it for unlimited number of hours within the subscription period.
GameFly will offer six bundles each containing seven games during the service's initial launch. Each bundle offer a different type of game or covers a certain theme, according to Slash Gear. For example, GameFly's Action Pack which will be offered for $6.99 will contain the following games: "Hitman," "F.E.A.R. 3," "Operation Flashpoint: Dragon Rising," Sleeping Dogs," Mafia II," Red Faction: Guerilla" and "Red Faction: Armageddon."
Other bundles are called Adventure Pack, Fun Pack, Speed Pack, and Lego Pack. For Hardcore gamers who wants more titles, they can choose to rent the Gamer Pack which contains 16 games for $9.99 per month.
GameFly's approach to video game rental is interesting, especially its selection of games. However, GameFly's service will only work if gamers will use the Amazon Fire TV Game Controller which is currently priced for $40.
GameFly claims that its service will be "the world's premier multi-platform, console-quality streaming video game service." The company has yet to provide an official launch date for its service.
