"Amazing Spider-Man 3" has no Peter Parker yet as Asa Butterfield has not been tapped for the role.
According to Master Herald, there was no explanation as to why the creators of the film decided to remove Butterfield from their list of possible actors who could play the role. However, there are speculations that it was mainly because the producers realized that he was not the right fit for Peter Parker.
In the past, Chandler Riggs was also removed from the list of actors who could play the role of Peter Parker.
Meanwhile, there are only three actors who are still in the running for the role, namely, Tom Holland, Matthew Lintz and Charlie Plummer, Cinema Blend reported.
According to the publication, there is a possibility that the producers are eyeing Holland for the role of Peter Parker. The actor previously starred in "The Impossible." He will also star in the film "In the Heart of the Sea" which is slated for release this coming December.
"Boardwalk Empire" star Plummer could also star as Peter Parker in "Amazing Spider-Man 3" because the publication noted that there is a possibility Marvel and Sony want a fresh face for their upcoming installment.
Lintz, who starred in "What to Expect When You're Expecting" may be a good option also for the producers because of his experience in making movies.
"Amazing Spider-Man 3" is slated for release in the United States on July 28, 2017.
