BlackBerry is believed to be working on a new variant of the BlackBerry Passport.
An Italian BlackBerry Developer named Nicola D'Amico's tweet carries the purported image of the BlackBerry Passport along with the text "in the night..."
It is not confirmed whether it is a new device or an Android ROM running on the older BlackBerry Passport. The handset that is expected to release this fall is being referred with "Venice" codename.
From the image, it can be clearly seen that it is a BlackBerry Passport handset running on Android. The model number mentioned on the image is BlackBerry Passport SQW-ANDS.
It is interesting to note that the form factor of the device in the leaked image does not match with the BlackBerry Venice displayed at MWC 2015. When the BlackBerry Venice was display at the Mobile World Congress 2015 that was held in March, the handset was shown running on BlackBerry 10 OS with a top-down sliding QWERTY keyboard.
The purported BlackBerry Venice is expected to house a 5.4-inch Quad HD resolution supporting display, N4BB reported. It will be powered by Snapdragon 808 chipset that includes a hexa-core processor that can deliver a clocking speed of 1.8 GHz. The chipset will be complemented by 3GB of RAM.
BlackBerry Venice will feature a 18 MP rear camera and a selfie camera of 5 MP. It is not known whether it will be running on BlackBerry 10 OS or Android OS. The BlackBerry Venice is expected to be released in November.
