Twitter has launched new product pages that will allow brands to display their products and services.
Shopping at Twitter will be easier now because it has custom collections of products, surfacing related Twitter content under a "Buy Now" to purchase it directly from the social media giant. Collection pages or Dedicated pages will show essential and related images of products and services with its brief description, and website to know more about it. Tweets will be arranged according to the relevancy to the products and which accounts the user follows.
For the collections, Twitter is currently working with a small list of partners who have the access of creating groups of products. As of now, the social media company is only testing the feature on a limited number of topics. Latest updates to the Android and iOS apps will allow the users to get these Collection pages on their smartphone, PCMag reported.
On Twitter’s blog post, it explained that its users tweet every now and then their favourite products, places, books and any related activities and the company helps the people to find relevant and rich content about these products and places in an easier way on Twitter.
This is not the first attempt of Twitter to let its users to buy something directly from the site. In 2014, they have tested the Buy Button but without all the relevant Twitter content with the product. This new product page feature will bring new shopping experience to users and enhancement from Twitter’s huge collection of user-created content, according to Geek Wire.
In addition, Amazon is also trying to bring shopping experience to Twitter. Its hashtag #AmazonCart lets the users to add items to their cart via the reply tweet with an Amazon product link with the hashtag.
Currently, Twitter has not yet starting to collect any money from the products being sold via the Buy Button
