"The Vampire Diaries" season 7 is set to return in just a few more months, but as early as now, fans are worried as to what will happen to the CW series now that lead star Nina Dobrev is no longer around.
Ahead of season six's finale episode, Dobrev confirmed her decision to exit the series. According to her, she is looking forward to doing other things. Showrunner Julie Plec also confirmed that she tried to talk Dobrev out of her decision but failed.
Fans are wondering how Plec and the rest of the creators and writers could live up to their expectations. There are also speculations that one of two other lead stars may also die in season 7.
According to Master Herald, the possible death of Damon or Stefan Salvatore will just make things worse for the series. Although "The Vampire Diaries" is known for resurrecting characters from the dead, there are rumors that Damon and Stefan will also be gone for good.
In other news, ahead of the characters' possible death, there are speculations that Damon will eventually end up with Bonnie. The two have been working together recently and it is quite evident how they have become good friends. Additionally, Stefan and Caroline may also end up together. The latter previously revealed her true feelings for the former, Christian Today reported.
Meanwhile, "The Vampire Diaries" promises to feature more drama involving Damon and Stefan's relationship as brothers. Later on in season 7, the brothers will start living their lives independently again.
