Android 5.1 Lollipop update was expected to fix several bugs that came with Android 5.0 Lollipop. It appears that the rollout of Android 5.1 update on Moto smartphones is kind of slow; however, it appears that the update will eventually arrive on the Moto G (1st and 2nd Generation), Moto X (1st and 2nd Generation) and the Moto E (1st and 2nd Generation) soon.

According to a SlashGear report, the Android 5.1 Lollipop should now be available for the original Moto G LTE (not the first Moto G). It would appear that the unlocked version of the smartphone will be first to get the update, followed by carrier versions. The report added that all Moto G models are expected to jump to Android 5.1 Lollipop before the end of July.

At present, the Moto X (1st Gen) and the Moto X (2nd Gen) are getting the Android 5.1 Lollipop update, International Business Times reported.

The Moto X (2nd Gen) has reached full deployment stage for Verizon and AT&T users of this smartphone. Also, owners of the Moto X Pure Edition (second generation) available through T-Mobile have begun getting the Android update from June 26.

As for the Moto X first generation, the Android 5.1 soak test has started for AT&T and Verizon, which means that it will be available for users of both those subscribers soon. As of this writing, there is no information about Sprint and T-Mobile.

According to Motorola, the Android 5.1 Lollipop update for the Moto E (1st and 2nd Generation) should be available already. Users can check out the Motorola customer help site here for the Moto E (1st Gen) and here for the Moto E (2nd Gen).
