Google Nexus 5 2015 release will reportedly happen in the fall and Chinese manufacturer Huawei is already working on the new Nexus smartphone.
According to Android Community, Huawei is already hard at work for its fair share of Nexus smartphone slated for release sometime in October. This is in line with the rumors that Google taps two mobile manufacturers to work on two Nexus handsets this year.
Softpedia reported that Google dropped the idea of releasing a tablet this year, probably due to the decreasing tablet sales. To make up for the absence of a tablet, Google will reportedly release two Nexus 2015 smartphones.
Some reports claimed that Google will finally enter the phablet category and the other smartphone will be the direct successor of Nexus 6.
Previous reports claimed that the Huawei Nexus smartphone will be dubbed as Bullhead and is purported to sport a bigger screen display of 5.7 inches. It will be powered by Snapdragon 810 SoC and supported by 3,500 mAh battery. The handset is dubbed as the successor of the current Nexus 6.
Huawei working with Google can be a stepping stone for the company to penetrate bigger markets. Meanwhile, Google may also benefit using Huawei as it hopes to return its business in China, according to The Verge.
In 2010, Google shut down its search engine in China and redirected searches to Hong Kong due to problems with China's censorship. However, the company admitted that pulling the plug in China is a huge blow for the company since it is a profitable market. Currently, only free apps are available in China's Google Play Store.
