Tech giant Microsoft recently announced that it will release a single universal OneNote app for the iOS platform. An update for the OneNote app on the Android platform was also released along with the announcement.
The announcement was posted on the official Office Blogs, "If you are an iPad user today, you will need to get the new OneNote app from the store. When you open your current iPad app, you will see instructions for getting the app."
According to WinBeta, the announcement adds that iPhone users do not need to update their OneNote app since it was the iPad version of the app that was consolidated into its iPhone counterpart. The universal OneNote app on iOS means that iPad owners will receive all the recent update made on the iPhone version of the app.
Some of the features added to the iPad update include the Today Widget which allows the user to quickly create notes and access recent notes directly from the Notification Center. A patch to fix the Document/Whiteboard camera app was also included on the update.
On the Android platform, Microsoft released an update for the OneNote app that allow users to move and copy pages directly from one notebook or section to another notebook or section. This means that if a note is still in the Quick Notes section, the user can now move it to the Notebook where it properly belongs. The new feature also works with shared notes.
Lastly, Microsoft announced that it will release a big update for the OneNote app on the Android Wear platform. Speculations claim that the update will allow users to view recent note on their Android Wear smartwatch.
