WWE fans who follow "The Flash" will be in for a great treat this coming season 2 as The CW confirmed that Adam Copeland, aka Edge, will be joining the series.
The WWE superstar will be playing the role of Atom-Smasher, one of the new villains of the television hit series, ComicBook reports. CW describes the villain as a powerful villain who wants to end The Flash's reign.
"One of the most powerful enemies we encounter this season, Atom Smasher has come to Central City to kill The Flash. His incredible strength and ability to grow to enormous size makes him more than a match for Flash and the entire S.T.A.R. Labs team will have to come together to find a way to defeat him," ComicBook replied.
Al Rothstein was a hero in the comic books, but was related to one of the diabolical villains in the DC universe - he was the grandson of Cyclotron. Before being known as the Atom-Smasher, he went by the name Nuklon, noted the site.
Before becoming an actor, Copeland made a name for himself as the tights-wearing wrestler, Edge. During his stint in the WWE, he wore his hair long and was known for his leather jackets. Edge also had a successful wrestling career, becoming the WWE Champion, the World Heavyweight Champion, an Intercontinental Champion, a Royal Rumble winner, a Money in the Bank winner and bagged several Tag Team titles. In 2012, the WWE inducted him in the wrestling Hall of Fame.
