KRC Genk midfielder Sergej Milinkovic-Savic is reportedly choosing between Serie A clubs SS Lazio and ACF Fiorentina as a potential landing spot for him next season, according to ESPN.
Both Italian league teams made substantial bids for the 20-year-old Serbia international, who is reportedly keen on advancing his career by transferring to Italy from the Belgian Pro League.
The 6-foot-3 midfielder admitted that he is taking time in making a decision as he considers the opportunity "a crucial moment" for his professional life and that the right choice would let him take "a huge step forward".
"Lazio and Fiorentina have presented me with very interesting offers so I need to evaluate every last detail of them," Milinkovic-Savic said. "I nevertheless know that despite (the) offers, it is Genk who will have the final say, even though I will decide which club I choose."
Rumors have arisen that both Le Aquile and Viola offered five-year deals worth €10 million to try and lure the dynamic midfielder. With the possibility of earning such a large figure at such a young age, it is no wonder that Milinkovic-Savic is not in a hurry to finalize anything.
Meanwhile, Bleacher Report indicated that Premiere League club Arsenal FC is also interested in the Serbian and is planning a huge offer of their own to the Racing Club.
Gunners' manager Arsène Wenger is reportedly piqued by Milinkovic-Savic's play last season with the Belgian club and although there are still inconsistencies to his game, his moves and on-field IQ shows a lot of promise.
However, Genk manager Peter Maes is said to be not yet ready to let go of his prized footballer. He is just in the second year of a five-year deal signed with the team and Maes asserted that they have "no intention of selling" the young star.
