Mark Hamill will once again lend his voice as the Joker in "Batman: The Killing Joke."
According to Collider, Hamill previously said that he will no longer lend his voice for the character Joker after 18 years of doing so. The actor previously played Joker not only in the movies but also in several video games.
Meanwhile, in 2011, Hamill said that he will only return to the DC franchise if the company will be able to come up with an original story that will focus more on the Clown Prince of Crime. According to Screen Rant, Hamill has already recorded some of his parts for the upcoming movie.
"Batman: The Killing Joke" will chronicle how Joker was able to capture Batgirl or Barbara Gordon and then tortured her. In the comic books, Joker was also featured mocking Batman after he tortured Batgirl.
Some publications have noted that the upcoming animated film is not intended for the faint of heart because Joker will be exercising his cruelty in it. Meanwhile, other publications claimed that Hamill remains to be the best choice for the character because he was able to give it justice several times before.
In other news, there are rumors that a "Batman: The Animated Series" may be revived and actors Kevin Conroy, who played Batman and Melissa Gilbert, who played Barbara Gordon will reprise their respective roles. As of late, nothing has been confirmed yet because DC is still in the process of finalizing Hamill's movie.
"Batman: The Killing Joke" is slated to hit theaters in the United States in 2016.
