The latest "Agent Carter" season 2 spoilers revealed that Peggy Carter (Hayley Atwell) may be getting a new love interest when the ABC series returns. The actress shared that fans can expect to see a different, much bolder, side of Penny in the coming episodes.
The premiere episode will focus on Peggy as she tries to move on from Steve Rogers' (Chris Evans) death. She may still be grieving from losing a loved one but she is determined to move forward in her life.
According to Cinema Blend, Captain America and Peggy's relationship was not discussed in full detail at the "Captain America: The First Avenger." The publication pointed out that the only time that the couple became intimate was when they kissed at Red Skull's HYDRA compound and when they bid each other goodbye.
When asked if Atwell thought that the couple had sex, she said that it was definitely a possibility given that they were soulmates. Her answer surprised fans since Evans gave a different answer early this year. He said that Steve probably died a virgin because he never saw Peggy again. The actor added that his character was not interested in one night stands because of his traditional values.
Meanwhile, in an interview with Comic Book Resources, it was revealed that Captain America actually saved Peggy's future husband in the war as seen on "The Winter Soldier." When asked if she knew who the mysterious character is, Atwell said that she does not have a clue. James D'Arcy, who plays Edwin Jarvis in the series, however, teased that he knows who Peggy's future love interest will be.
