Gloria Tang Tsz-kei, better known as Chinese pop star G.E.M. will lend her voice to the computer-animated comedy film "Charming," along with Demi Lovato, Avril Lavigne and Ashley Tisdale.
The film is produced by John H. Williams, best known for producing the "Shrek" series, and directed by Ross Venokur, who wrote the script.
The film tells the story of Prince Philip Charming who, after being cursed as a child, proposes to every woman he meets, creating a chaotic situation in the kingdom ruled by his father, King Charming, who demands the prince find his true love or lose his claim to the throne.
In the film, Cinderella, Snow White and Sleeping Beauty discover that the Prince Charming they are all engaged to is the same man.
G.E.M. will play Sleeping Beauty, while Tisdale and Lavigne will play Cinderella and Snow White, respectively.
Lovato was cast earlier to play the female lead Lenore. She is also going to produce the film's score.
As of now, producers are still searching for the actor who will portray Prince Charming.
The film's production company, 3QU Media, is based in U.S.A. and Canada and was established by Williams earlier this year. "Charming" will be their first film.
According to Williams, "Charming" will be the first of four films that 3QU Media will produce, with budgets under $20 million.
"3QU Media's goal is to produce mainstream animated family films with elements of comedy, adventure, romance and personal inspiration," Williams said.
The 3QU Media website describes "Charming" as "an irreverent animated comedy about a young Prince with an irresistible appeal and one kick-ass maiden who wants him only for his money."
This will be G.E.M.'s first Hollywood movie and first voice role. Overall, it will be her third feature film appearance, after appearing in "Love Connected" and "Trick or Cheat" back in 2009.
