NBA superstar Kobe Bryant is back on the court for practice shooting after recovering from surgery. In January, the Los Angeles Lakers shooting forward suffered a season-ending injury after he tore the rotator cuff in his right shoulder.
"First day back on the court shooting! Bout Damn time!! #shoulderrecovery #20thseason #drinkbodyarmor #lakers," Bryant captioned an Instagram photo of himself on the court posted on Aug. 22, Saturday.
A day before this, Bryant appeared onstage with Taylor Swift during her "1989" tour concert in the Los Angeles Lakers' home base, Staples Center. Amid rumors of his retirement, the basketball star is set to return for the 2015-2016 season.
On Oct. 28, the Los Angeles Lakers will open the season against the Minnesota Timberwolves at Staples Center. This marks Bryant's 20th season and the final year of his contract.
Bryant spent almost seven months recovering. He was able to get back into the gym during that period but he was not allowed to shoot a basketball, according to Los Angeles Times.
Because of a torn Achilles' tendon, he missed the end of the 2012-2013 season and the playoffs. A knee injury also made him sit out most of the 2013-2014 season.
Meanwhile, also on Aug. 22, Saturday, people waited in line for over an hour outside an Adidas store in Chicago to but a pair of the new, limited edition Yeezy Boost 350 sneakers associated with Bryant's "The Black Mamba" co-star Kanye West, Chicago Sun-Times reported.
In 2011, Bryant and West co-starred in the Nike commercial "The Black Mamba" with Robert Rodriguez, Bruce Willis, Jamal Duff, John Duff, Onya Ibekwe and Anthony Barlow.
