Daniel Craig is playing James Bond for the fourth and probably the last time as rumors claim that the next actor to play the legendary character is black. For "No Escape" actor Pierce Brosnan, who also played the character four times, Idris Elba is the best actor to play a black James Bond.
In a recent interview with Details magazine, Brosnan describes Elba as a great black actor who has the physicality, the charisma and the presence to play James Bond. On the other hand, the "No Escape" actor thinks Craig "will be there for a while yet."
Brosnan's comment on Elba as the best actor to play a black James Bond is in time with "No Escape" premiere on Aug. 26, Wednesday. The John Erick Dowdle film also stars Lake Bell and Owen Wilson.
Before playing the first black James Bond, Elba made a record as the first man to grace the cover of Maxim magazine. In the magazine's September 2015 issue, the "Beasts of No Nation" and "Star Trek Beyon" actor talked about sex, music and auto racing.
Elba has completed Cary Fukunaga's "Beasts of No Nation," in which he plays an African child army's commandant. The war film, which will be released on Oct. 16, also stars Ama Abebrese, Abraham Attah, Richard Pepple and Opeyemi Fagbohungbe, among others.
Currently, Elba is filming three 2016 films, which are "The Jungle Book," in which he lends his voice to Shere Khan, "Finding Dory" and "Star Trek Beyond."
Directed by Justin Lin, "Star Trek Beyond" also stars Simon Pegg, Chris Pine, Zoe Saldana, Zachary Quinto, Sofia Boutella, Karl Urban, Anton Yelchin, Deep Roy, John Cho, Lydia Wilson, Joseph Gatt and Joe Taslim, among others.
