The group may have found a new home for now; however, trouble is far from over for them. "The Walking Dead" (TWD) Season 6 is expected to introduce new threats and challenges for the group to deal with while they are in the walled town of Alexandria Safe Zone.
In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, "The Walking Dead" (TWD) showrunner Scott M. Gimple hinted at the possibility of Negan's appearance in Season 6 of AMC's series.
"It's absolutely a possibility," Gimple remarked when he was questioned about the possibility of the villain's appearance. "And when I say it's a possibility, we have a plan in place, but there's a couple variables for that plan that we're deciding about. It really depends on a few factors as we move into setting up the last bit of the season story-wise," the show runner explained.
The website infers that if Negan appears, then there are chances "The Walking Dead" Season 6 will also introduce fan-favourite character Paul Monroe, also known as Jesus. In the comic book, Jesus shows up before Negan does.
But it is known that the TV version of the series does not necessarily follow the comic book version of "The Walking Dead." Thus, fans will have to wait until Season 6 goes on air.
For those unfamiliar, in the comic book, Negan is the head of a group of survivors, who call themselves Saviours. In return of resources, the group offers protection to the communities residing in and around Alexandria. Negan forces others to share half of their resources with his group. As for Jesus, he was a resident of Hilltop Colony and helps the group in bringing down Negan.
Earlier this month, Spoil The Dead reported about a casting call for a Caucasian or Latin men in a role of a recurring guest star. The character named Jason is described as "Smart, friendly, and charming with a puckish sense of humour," and "benevolent."
Meanwhile, Spoiling Dead Fans are speculating that the casting call may actually be for the iconic comic book character Jesus. Whether Jesus and Negan will appear in "The Walking Dead" Season 6 is yet to be confirmed.
Sharing his thoughts on the topic, "The Walking Dead" creator Robert Kirkman told EW: "When it comes to characters like The Governor, Michonne, Abraham, and others like Jesus and Negan who are fan-favorite characters in the comics, it's always a challenge to get it right because it's those characters-much like Rick Grimes in the beginning-that fans already have a sense of and expectations for. So we're always careful, and I feel like we've done a really good job servicing those fan expectations. Hopefully that trend will continue...if the characters you mention are to appear soon."
