The force is with Li and his father Po in the latest teaser trailer of Alessandro Carloni and Jennifer Yuh's "Kung Fu Panda 3" as it featured a "Star Wars" parody.
With the title "A Father Rises," the teaser trailer is one minute long and starts of with a breath sound with the statement "Nothing can prepare you for the return of the legend" divided in half, along with a voice over saying "I... am your father." Then, the next sequence features Li and Po, as the latter tells the former that he is Li's father while he climbs the stairs.
According to Comic Book Resources, the introduction of the "Kung Fu Panda 3" teaser trailer has made a touch of "Star Wars" while shifting the path of the animated film from the track of J.J. Abrams' "Star Wars: Episode VII - The Force Awakens."
While Li's labored breathing seemed to be Sith Lord's ventilator, the teaser trailer went on to be amusing, as per Cinema Blend.
"Kung Fu Panda 3" centers on the reunion of the main character Po and his long-lost father Li as they travel to a hidden panda village. Aside from seeing new panda characters, Po must train his kind to become Kung Fu Pandas and defeat villain Kai.
Carloni and Yuh's upcoming film features the voices of Angelina Jolie, Lucy Liu, Rebel Wilson, Dustin Hoffman, Seth Rogen, David Cross, James Hong, Jackie Chan, J.K. Simmons, Bryan Cranston, and Jack Black, among others.
Along with Carloni and Yuh directing the film, Jonathan Aibel and Glenn Berger as on board to pen the screenplay of the film. The film will be co-produced by Melissa Cobb, Guillermo del Toro, and Jeff Hermann.
Carloni and Yuh's "Kung Fu Panda 3" is slated to premiere in theaters in the United States on Jan. 29, 2016. Watch the teaser trailer here:
