Sheldon (Jim Parsons) and Amy (Mayim Bialik) fans will be happy to know that their favorite "The Big Bang Theory" couple may eventually get back together in the season 9 premiere. Penny (Kaley Cuoco-Sweeting) and Leonard (Johnny Galecki) will also end up getting married in Las Vegas.
In an interview with Entertainment Tonight, Bialik confirmed that the premiere episode would take place only hours after the season 8 finale. In the last episode, ShAmy fans were definitely surprised by Amy's decision to "step back and re-evaluate" her relationhip with Sheldon.
Although it has been very clear from the start that Amy loves Sheldon more than he loves her, fans did not see the break up coming. The only scene that could probably top that was the next one, in which Sheldon was holding what seemed to be an engagement ring.
When asked what she thought about the finale, Bialik revealed that the entire "The Big Bang Theory" cast was surprised when they found out what the writers had in mind. They reportedly thought that the only wedding about to happen soon was Penny and Leonard. Given how Sheldon has always been afraid of change, the proposal definitely came out of the blue.
Meanwhile, in a different interview on Entertainment Tonight, Cuoco-Sweeting hinted that Penny and Leonardo were finally able to tie the knot. After years of dating, the actress revealed that the couple are ready to start a new life together as husband and wife.
"Between Leonard and Penny... All the dreams came true for me," she revealed.
