Islamic State (IS) notorious beheader Jihadi John, number 1 on Pentagon's "kill list" may have emerged from hiding for his life a few days ago, representing more threats to perceived enemies of the terrorist organization. However, on Friday, reports said that the number 3 on the list, Junaid Hussain, was killed by a U.S. drone.
Fox reports that Hussein, a Briton like Jihadi John or Mohammad Emwazi, is a British computer hacker who is one of the top online recruiters for IS. He was allegedly killed on Tuesday near Raqqa, a Syrian city. The 21-year-old allegedly fled Syria in 2013 with his wife, 45-year-old Sally Jones from Kent.
On the same year, he first left Birmingham after he served prison time for hacking the email of the former aide of ex-British Prime Minister Tony Blair. Hussein went by the name of Abu Hussain al Britani, which he used to recruit through the internet young Muslims who are computer literate as fighters for IS in Syria and Iraq.
British authorities, though, have yet to confirm Hussein's death. His wife, Jones, is said to lead an all-female IS brigade, reports ITV. He was linked in June to an IS plan to attack a parade in south London on Armed Forces Day, but the plan fizzled because it was reported to authorities by an undercover reporter from The Sun.
Journal reported that Hussein often tweeted the names, addresses and photos of American troops as a challenge for IS members to locate and kill the U.S. soldiers. He was also linked to the failed planned attack on the "Draw Muhammad" cartoon contest in Garland, Texas.
Meanwhile, Jihadi John surfaced on Monday from being quiet the past few months, unwittingly showed his face on video and threatened to kill non-believers in Britain. Number 2 on Pentagon's "kill list" is Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi who was also killed last week by an air strike.
