"X-Men" actor Hugh Jackman, 46, expressed his thoughts on becoming the new "James Bond" movie star. The Australian actor has opened up about how he has been asked to play the role.
"X-Men Origins: Wolverine" star Jackman was featured in an Australian news program entitled "The Project," where a segment called Ask Hugh in the said episode encouraged viewers to send their questions for the actor through social media.
A fan asked if Jackman would consider being the next James Bond. The actor revealed that he was already asked about playing the role some years ago, but refused the offer.
"Prisoners" star Jackman has been asked to play the role 10 years ago, according to International Business Times. He was already known as the Wolverine in the "X-men" movies and has been committed to the role ever since. When asked back then to play James Bond, he has turned down the offer.
"I was like 'Ah, I don't think it's the right time," Jackman explained. "But It was not an easy one to give up."
"X-Men Origins: Wolverine" Jackman has a number of competitors for the role James Bond. A list of competing actors includes "Spectre" star Daniel Craig. Also, rumors have been going around about the possibilities of seeing James Bond through "Pacific Rim" Idris Elba, "Mad Max: Fury Road" Tom Hardy, and professional footballer David Beckham.
"James Bond" movies' producers have no announcements and confirmations regarding the release and on who will become the next agent 007, yet, The News Daily reported. What people can wait for now is if whether Hugh Jackman be offered the role again or not
