Smartphones have been a necessity as the years passed by. The faster it works, the more one is able to accomplish along with it. As the phone ages, slowly its speed decreases and you know it is time to declutter.
Here are some ways to declutter your smartphone and breathe it with new life.
Retrieve Memory Space
Android devices have two storage spaces: internal, where applications are stored, and the external or your SD card, where music, photos and settings of your applications are stored.
- External Storage
Delete photos, videos and music that you do not need anymore. Folders that do not seem like folders for your applications can be deleted too.
If the android device is rooted, an app called SD Maid or the root-free Clean Master can help clean up your external storage, Life Hacker suggested.
- Internal Storage
Cut-down on unwanted applications, according to NDTV. Uninstall applications which are not used anymore, including games you seldom play. This will free up more space in the RAM, thereby increasing the speed of the android device
If deleting applications is not an option, moving it to the SD Card is an alternative. This can be done by going to settings > Manage applications > Applications. Select the application then tap on Move to SD Card.
Although moving the applications to the SD card is an alternative, this option can only be seen in some applications.
Boost the Battery Life
An application called Tasker or Juicedefender is designed to automatically boost your battery life. It can also be done manually, by lowering the brightness down, turning off WIFI, Bluetooth of GPS when not in use.
Clean your Smartphone's Case
If the phone is getting a little dirty on the outside, cleaning it up will give it an instant new look. Remember to not to use chemicals that may harm your screen. Also, consider giving your smartphone a new case.
