"Criminal Minds" season 11 will be more serialized as some characters get personal storyline.
Dr. Spencer Reid (Matthew Gray Gubler) will have a very dramatic season, with a major assignment in the first episode of season 11 titled "The Job," Entertainment Weekly reported. Erica Messer, the show creator said to the publication that Dr. Reid's assignment will concern "using his brain with a physical thing," and it will be very disturbing to the extent that fans will turn away.
Meanwhile, Gubler told TV Line that season 11 will have a "crazy" inclination. Hotch's (Thomas Gibson) team will not just deal with a crime of a single serial killer but an entire group of criminals referred to as "The Dirty Dozen." The theme with these murders will run throughout season 11, with the big revelation coming out on the show's finale in 2016.
Another controversy that "Criminal Minds" may is that the agency has a mole that leaks information to the public and even the serial killers. There are no further details on the intention of the mole, and therefore, fans will be on toes to guess the identity of the agency's mole.
Two female character in BAU will not return for season 11, including Jennifer Love Hewitt (Kate Callahan) who resigned during season 10 finale and A.J. Cook (Jennifer Jareau) who is on maternity leave.
On the other hand, J.J. will reportedly come back in episode 6. Aisha Tyler playing psychologist Dr. Tara Lewis will be joining the team this season. There is a possibility of a romance developing between Tyler and Dr. Reid.
'Criminal Minds" season 11 will debut on CBS on Sept. 30.
