Pixar's blockbuster family adventure, "The Incredibles", had a perfect ending, well set up for a sequel. Director Brad Bird is working on the script of "The Incredibles 2" and, in an interview, he revealed that many ideas from the first movie will shape how he directs the overall sequel.
Bird spoke to Coming Soon during a promotional event of "Tomorrowland." "I had a bunch of ideas that I wanted to put in The Incredibles, but they just didn't fit.... There were little scenes and things that I was interested in," said the 58-year old Academy Award winner.
He added that he had leftover scenes from "The Incredibles" that he may use in the sequel. However, he wishes to come up with an all-embracing idea that is in connection with the first version, and take the story on a different path. Bird, who has churned out notable films such as "Mission Impossible: Rogue Nation" and "Iron Giant," mentioned that it was the little scenes from "The Incredibles" that interested him more.
The release date of the sequel is being kept under the wraps "In terms of the release date, we were originally- Incredibles was supposed to happen after Cars, and our wheels just happened to click a little earlier so they moved us up," Bird told Collider.
The movie may release in June 2018 or early 2019, though nothing is confirmed yet. There is no news on the cast and crew of the sequel. In the coming days, the same will be revealed as production will kick off.
