While "The Blacklist" season 3 is just days away from its premiere, showrunners and cast members are already dropping interesting spoilers about the series. Latest rumors indicate that not only will Elizabeth "Liz" Keen have a different look in the upcoming season, but also she will discover secrets about Raymond "Red" Reddington.
Rumor mills have previously indicated that season 3 will start from where the previous season stopped. There will be no time-jumps, although Megan Boone (Liz) teased that the show will have a different format, International Business Times reported.
"The Blacklist" season 2 saw Liz killing Attorney General Tom Connolly, which put her on the FBI's Most Wanted list. Liz is currently on the run with Red as they are pursued by Agent Ressler.
On the other hand, producer Jon Bokenkamp brought to surface that Liz will be having a new look to hide from the authorities.
According to iDigital Times, Bokenkamp said that what they hit on in the story is that by virtue of Liz being a fugitive and changing her look, she may notice that she looks like her mother.
"It felt like a really nice, organic way to take the on-the-run story of two fugitives and yet tie it back into the mythology of who Liz is, who Red is, what their relationship is and to lean into the bigger question of identity."
However, in an interesting teaser, the producer said that Red is heartbroken that while he has done a lot in season 2 to protect his secrets from being known by Liz, the former FBI profiler has discovered the horrible truth.
Bokenkamp added, "This storyline opens and takes us into a new chapter where she is no longer just an FBI agent - they have a real journey that they're about to go on. They're entering the third season as fugitives."
Meanwhile, producer John Eisendrath dished on the relationship between Ressler and Liz, saying that there will be no romantic relationship between the two anytime soon because they wish to develop Ressler's character first.
"The Blacklist" season 3 premieres on Oct. 1, Thursday on NBC.
