Android 6.0 Marshmallow, previously referred to as Android M, will be released on Oct. 5.
Asus Nexus player, HTC Nexus 9, LG Nexus 5, Motorola Nexus 6 and Asus Nexus 7 (2013) are the devices that will support the soon to be released Android 6.0 Marshmallow, which will apparently happen on Oct. 5, Christian Post reported.
During the launch date, Google will lead the world in an over-the-air activity where the new Google Nexus together with Nexus 6 from LG will be released. The two brand new Nexus 6p and Nexus 5X will have new features mostly in form of apps supported by the new Android version.
The new features of Android 6.0 Marshmallow were previewed on Android M developer. These features include Google Now on Tap feature, revamped app permissions, amazing chrome feature to change Web experience for Android users, integrated Android Pay mobile payment system, new finger APIs and native fingerprint support.
According to Beta News, Doze, a battery saver feature will give the Android 6.0 Marshmallow ability to manage power. Other additional features to be included are a new app drawer, auto backup and restore for apps, new memory manager, and support for USB Type-C ports.
The roll-out will feature more high-end devices from well-known manufacturers such as Samsung, HTC and Sony. It is almost certain that an upgrade to Marshmallow will become available to their assorted smartphones.
With the assumption of similar speeds in delivering the new Android 6.0 Marshmallow to other non-Google devices, it will be possible to start seeing the same Android 6.0 Marshmallow on a select few more devices by the end of the year.
