Norio Hayakawa, a UFO unbeliever who changed her belief after she saw a UFO in 1975 over a Yokohoma rail station, admits that experts who would speak at an upcoming UFO conference could neither prove nor disprove anything about UFOs.

He is referring to the UFO Research Day in New Mexico on Oct. 17 at the Concert Hall of Cleveland High in New Mexico.  Hayakawa explains, "People see things they can't explain ... I cannot debunk anything," reports ABQJournal.

Since majority of the attendees at the conference are UFO believers, the gathering would not attempt to prove or disprove UFOs, but rather tackle the question "What does the government really know?" It is a consensus among UFO believers that government has evidence of UFOs, aliens and extraterrestrials but is hiding the knowledge.

Rio Rancho Mayor Gregg Hull, who showed support for the conference, admits he has never seen a UFO although he says he is a sci-fi guy, he loves "Star Trek" and "Star Wars," reports RRObserver.

Hayakawa, who spoke on Thursday with the elderly at the Meadowlark Senior Center, points out that this is the first time that an American mayor has shown support by declaring Oct. 17 as UFO Research Center Day in the city. "It takes some real guts to do this endorsement," Hayakawa says.

Although Hayakawa has been researching about UFOs the past five decides, he says, "There's no such thing as an expert on UFOs. It's like saying this guy is an expert on God." He discloses that there were more UFO sightings in October 1973, except for 1947. He says he does not know whatever happened to Roswell.

Three UFOlogists are sharing their knowledge on Oct. 17. They are John Alexander, Nick Redfern and Nick Pope.
