Michael Shannon has voiced his insights on how his character would appear in Zack Snyder's forthcoming DC Comics film "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice."
Shannon is playing the role of General Zod in Snyder's upcoming film. In his interview with Cinema Blend about his performance as the real estate tycoon Rick Carver in Ramin Bahrani's drama film "99 Homes," Shannon said that his character was just like a ghost in the film, which he compared to Russell Crowe's Jor-El in Snyder's "Man of Steel."
According to Shannon, spirits of Kyptonians stay behind and he added that even his neck had been cracked, he could not be shut up. This suggests that his mission with Superman has not yet been completed, not to mention that Lex Luthor might extract Zod's DNA to lift a larger threat to Earth and its people, as per Cinema Blend.
While he was dead in the trailers, General Zod might enflame the guilt of Superman in Snyder's "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice," in line with the incidents in Snyder's "Man of Steel," as per Cinema Blend. Also, he might haunt the Man of Steel, as the latter chose to thrive on Earth instead of his home planet.
Directed by Snyder, "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice" will lead to the rise of the superhero team Justice League. Aside from Eisenberg, the film also stars Henry Cavill, Ben Affleck, Gal Gadot, Jason Momoa, Ezra Miller, Ray Fisher, and Amy Adams, among others.
Snyder's "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice" is set to be aired in two separate teasers on Oct. 26 while the film is slated to premiere in theaters in the United States on Mar. 25, 2016.
