J.J. Abram's "Star Wars: Episode VII - The Force Awakens" is set to occupy a decent amount of run time, topping other "Star Wars" films.
According to Slash Film, Abram's "Star Wars: Episode VII - The Force Awakens" would run two hours and 15 minutes long, which was close in previous reports that revealed that the space sci-fi film would be 136 minutes long. The film is also reported to tease "Rogue One: A Star Wars Story" in a rumored post-credit scene, as per the publication.
"Star Wars: Episode VII - The Force Awakens" playing for 135 minutes could change, as per Cinema Blend. According to the publication, Abrams and the team were still working on the finishing touches for the visual effects, musical score and audio, and the entire editing process.
In line with the film's run time, "Star Wars: Episode VII - The Force Awakens's" 135 minutes time tops "A New Hope," "The Empire Strikes Back," and "Return of the Jedi," which had 121 minutes, 124 minutes, and 131 minutes, in ascending order.
Abram's "Star Wars: Episode VII - The Force Awakens," which is set 30 years after the events in the "Return of Jedi." The film stars an ensemble of both old and new heroes and villains played by Daisy Ridley, Adam Driver, Oscar Isaac, Mark Hamill, Max von Sydow, Simon Pegg, Gwendoline Christie, Domhnall Gleeson, John Boyega, Carrie Fisher, Harrison Ford, and Mark Hamill, among others.
Abrams' "Star Wars: Episode VII - The Force Awakens" hits theaters on Dec. 18 while Gareth Edwards's "Rogue One: A Star Wars Story" premieres on Dec. 16, 2016. Meanwhile, Johnson's "Star Wars: Episode VIII" is slated to premiere in theaters on May 26, 2017 while Colin Trevorrow's "Star Wars: Episode IX" premieres in 2019.
