"Jane the Virgin" season 2 episode 7 titled "Chapter Twenty-Nine" will air on The CW on Nov. 23, Monday, which is days before Black Friday. Before the episode airs, Justin Baldoni revealed some spoilers about what his character Rafael Solano.
In an interview with TV Line, Baldoni revealed that neither he nor his "Jane the Virgin" character has ever been to a Black Friday sale although he has heard some horror and amazing stories about it.
However, Rafael Solano comes from a world that is very different world from Baldoni's, the actor pointed out. He said his character is worth $40 million, so he probably could afford a Target and does not need to go and buy things at 80 percent off.
"It's always fun for me when he's experiencing something new," Baldoni said. He added that in the first season of "Jane the Virgin," when he had so much fun playing as he got on the bus for the first time.
Baldoni said trying something new is like getting to play this childlike wonder about a thing that everyone understand, which was what they were going for with the Black Friday episode of "Jane the Virgin" season 2.
Rafael Solano has no clue what he is doing while the girls are taking the Black Friday sale very seriously, Baldoni revealed. He added that his character wants to show Jane Villanueva (Gina Rodriguez) how good of a father he is as he is in love with her so he will do anything.
In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, "Jane the Virgin" season 2 executive producer and showrunner Jennie Snyder Urman pointed out that The CW series is a telenovela, so Black Friday means "a couple different things."
