GoPro Hero official news about its specs, price, and the release date of the newest iteration have been limited, which left the fans wondering why the action camera manufacturers have been delaying the release of updates for the highly anticipated device.
GoPro Hero 5 was previously set to roll out last October. However, towards the end of the month, the company moved the release schedule to early 2016. Reports claimed that the said delay was intended to give more time for the improvement of the camera. However, the truth remains that many adventure and sports enthusiasts who were anticipating for the pre-holiday release were disappointed, Neurogadget reported.
The company's profit was affected by the delay, MarketWatch reported. GoPro shares hit rock bottom as the company reportedly went off-course from its third-quarter sales and profit goals. Analysts noted that this came as a result of the company's decision to not launch the GoPro Hero 5 and, instead, promote the Hero 4.
GoPro Hero 5 analysts predict that this delay may cause GoPro Inc. shares to fall lower, the action camera manufacturer is still expected to roll out a product that will pull their sales back up again.
Most GoPro Hero 5 reports say that it will be lighter and smaller in size than the Hero 4. Furthermore, Neurogadget also reported that the upcoming camera will come with an enhanced waterproofing feature that will allow it to be used underwater up to 60 meters deep. It will also come with a longer battery life, which will allow users to enjoy two hours of extreme-action video recording.
GoPro Hero 5 new Bluetooth feature also allows for faster upload speed compared to that of the older GoPro units.
