Spider-Man's role in Joe Russo and Anthony Russo's "Captain America: Civil War" has reportedly been revealed. Also, Robert Downey Jr. expressed his happiness as an antagonist in the film.
In his interview with Anthony Breznican of Entertainment Weekly, Marvel Studios head Kevin Feige said that if there had been a cosplayer running around that set when he had been there, I did not know what to him.
It was noted that there was ongoing battle which involved the character ensemble of the film at the "Captain America: Civil War." A stuntman was also seen wearing Spider-Man's iconic red and blue suit. Downey was also there off-camera, laughing and talking, with his arm slung over Tom Holland, who was reported wearing his Spider-Man suit, except for the mask.
Downey said that Don Cheadle and he were just going, "Wow, dud, look at this." They were now like the old guard, and their storyline carried real weight just because of their history in the canon. He added that they were also looking around like, "Who though that Falcon and Black Panther and Ant-Man and now Spider-Man...?" For the actor who plays Iron Man, that thing was just "crazy," in a positive way.
Marvel Studios remained tight-lipped on Spider-Man's role in "Captain America: Civil War." In fact, the studio reported obliged its people and actors not to talk about the web-slinger's role in the Cinematic Universe publicly.
According to Chris Evans, who plays Captain America, he could not tell anything about it, as there were some things to remember from the list of "no-no's." Sebastian Stan, who plays Bucky Barnes the Winter Soldier, also remained quiet about Holland's role in the film. He said that he had no idea who Holland was, emphasizing that he really did not know.
Director Joe also voiced his thoughts on Holland, who is set to don Spider-Man's mask in the film. He said that they had done two screen tests with the character and they had been very vocal about who they had wanted for the part. Joe also said that Holland was fantastic and amazing, comparing the young actor to Christian Bale in "Empire of the Sun."
Joe also pinpointed that Holland is the best actor as Spider-Man. The director said that he was a dancer and a gymnast and he fitted the part like one could not believe. In fact, he added that they had been really pushing to go young for the part, since it was the only way to differentiate Spider-Man from the superhero's past iterations.
In other news, Downey explained that he was pleased on being an antagonistic hero in "Captain America: Civil War."
Downey told Entertainment Weekly that he had always thought of it in some ways that Tony was the antagonist to himself in his own story, so this was not a problem. For the actor, Tony understood problems because he was a problem and he tended to create problems. Downey also said that he did not have to patter around what he thought the worldview was.
For Downey, he wholeheartedly agreed with what Tony did in the film, which he considered as more than some of the other films.
The Russos' "Captain America: Civil War" is slated to premiere in theaters in the United States on May 6, 2016.
