Harrison Ford, who plays Han Solo in "Star Wars: Episode VII- The Force Awakens," revealed that he was not going to be part of the untitled "Han Solo Star Wars Anthology" film.
In his interview with Reuters, Ford said that he was sure whoever was responsible for that film, and he was not, would think through the issues and problems of doing such a thing. Ford wanted them to be responsible for the questions one might have thought to ask him, since he was not involved.
In the same interview, Ford also said that he was not going to give any tips on how to be Solo in the aforementioned spin-off. With the "Star Wars" actor's statement, it is assumed that the the new take for the character in the anthology film could be considerably different from Ford's iteration, according to Cinema Blend.
Numerous actor names have been linked to play the role of the younger Solo, such as . "Guardians of the Galaxy" star Chris Pratt and "The Hunger Games" actor Josh Hutcherson. However, none has been finalized to date, leaving "Star Wars" fans to speculate.
Meanwhile, Ford is set to reprise his role as Solo in J.J. Abrams' "Star Wars: Episode VII - The Force Awakens," which is set 30 years after the events in the "Return of Jedi." Aside from Ford, the film also casts an ensemble old and new actors including Mark Hamill, Carrie Fisher, Daisy Ridley, John Boyega, Adam Driver, Gwendoline Christie, Oscar Isaac, Simon Pegg, Max von Sydow, and Domhnall Gleeson, among others.
Abrams' "Star Wars: Episode VII - The Force Awakens" is slated to premiere in theaters in the United States on Dec. 18.
