The latest "Rick and Morty" spoilers revealed that season 3 will revisit some of Dan Harmon's earlier works, possibly including a return to the Dog World.
According to Movie Pilot, Harmon intentionally deviated from including storylines from their previous shows. He said that they did not want to ruin the show and tried their hardest to avoid any temptations.
However, after watching episodes from season 1 and season 2, Harmon felt that it was time to revisit some of his old stuff come season 3. He said that he is actually excited to revisit his old stuff and think of ways on how to integrate it in future episodes.
"Now, we can fade in on Blips and Chitz because we've already proven that the show isn't going to start eating itself, and that will feel even more limitless if we go back to a couple things that we really enjoyed doing," he shared.
The outlet speculated that viewers will eventually get to see Rick and Morty traveling to Dog World in the coming episodes, possibly in the premiere.
According to Master Herald, creator Justin Roiland has already made a Dog World reference early on the first season when Morty asked Rick what it was like to have a world populated by dogs. Given that the show's theme song also originated from the unaired series, some held that it was definitely a possibility.
"Dog World" is a series about a family who got sucked into a wormhole and ended up into a world inhabited by dogs who keep humans as pets.
