"Lost" writer Javier Grillo-Marxuach confirmed he will write scripts for "Xena" TV series reboot. The 90s TV series will return on NBC and the "Xena: The Warrior Princess"  creators Rob Tapert and Sam Raimi  will work with Grillo-Marxuach.

The TV series writer confirmed he will be part of the upcoming TV show. He tweeted, "well, i guess the cat's out of the bag... and the bag is in the river!"

According to Hollywood Reporter, the reboot will follow the story of modern Xena and the producers want a new Xena to be a sophisticated and smart superhero for a new generation. The TV series reboot is being eyed for 2016.

"We'd love to have Lucy be a part of it - if we felt that her presence didn't overshadow the direction we take with it," NBC Entertainment chairman Bob Greenblatt told the publication.

"I'm not sure how she could be part of it if she wasn't playing Xena, and I don't know if that's a direction we'll ever go," Greenlatt added. He also noted that he would be open to having the actress Tapert's wife Lucy Lawless involved creatively behind the scenes.

However, Lawless, who also originally portrayed the title character, will not be involved in the series reboot. The 90s TV series which aired from 1995 to 2001 was created by John Schulian, Raimi and Tapert, who was also the producer of the show.

In August, Lawless tweeted the confirmation of the superhero TV series reboot. Her tweet made fans speculated that she and her sidekick, Gabriel, portrayed by Renée O'Connor, will reprise their roles, CNET reported.

Marxuach won an Emmy and WGA Award for his work on "Lost." Aside from this drama series, his other credits are "Bomotown," "Jake 2.0," "Charlie's Angels," "Helix," "Charmed," and " The Chronicle."
