Ferrari is recalling its 185 California T 2016 cars due to the risk of a fuel leak and chances of fire, notified by U.S. on Friday.
The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) announces up to 185 cars have a fuel line defect that may not connect properly to the fuel pump's supply pipe. In that case, the company notified all owners to check their cars immediately, ABC News reported.
The NHTSA pointed out the issue, which could cause serious fire risks. While the component responsible for fire risk is a part that Ferrari does not manufacture, it doesn't rid the auto-organization of the liability.
On Dec. 14, this latest recall started after Ferrari Fiat Chrysler Automobiles NV examined 800 vehicles in the U.S. to resolve an issue with its Takata airbags, reported by Reuters.
The model year 2016 California T vehicles were manufactured from Sept. 8 to Nov.11. The company suggested with replacing the fuel line parts for free to the owners.
"With regard to the Ferrari 488 cars, on or about December 2015, 2016 Ferrari determined that affected vehicles had left our control bound for various Ferrari dealers," the company said.
The Michigan-based automaker, Ford is also recalling some model year 2013 vehicles because of the fuel-conveyance unit might break and make a fuel leak. It's affected up to 868 vehicles. Toyota also recalled of its 422,509 Lexus cars from 2006-2011 due to a risk of a fuel leak on 2014.
Ferrari declared a stop-sale notification to merchants of the 2016 model California T, which has an expense of recently over $167,000. Merchants will replace the part for nothing out of pocket, the notification stated.
