With Joe Russo and Anthony Russo's Marvel Comics film "Captain America: Civil War" hitting theaters soon, Sharon Carter, also known as Agent 13, is rumored to replace Steve Rogers as Captain America.
According to Cinema Blend, Agent 13 is one of the three heroes who will potentiall replace Chris Evans as the new Captain America, with the other two being Sebastian Stan's Bucky Barnes the Winter Soldier and Anthony Mackie's Sam Wilson/Falcon.
In th film, Agent 13 did not demonstrate extreme closeness to Captain America unlike the Winter Soldier and the Falcon. However, this could change in the Russos' forthcoming film, as Emily VanCamp, who is playing Agent 13 in the film, teased a brewing romance between her character and Steve Rogers.
In her interview with ET News, VanCamp said that Agent 13 and Rogers got to explore and know more about each other. The actress added that since they knew who each other were, that was where it all got really tricky.
VanCamp also added that there were die-hard fans that wanted to see him with other people and there were the different camps. The actress hoped that people were happy with it. While Agent 13 never became the star-spangled Avenger in the pages of the comic books , it is assumed that Marvel Studios could have her as the "left turn" for Marvel's Cinematic Universe.
Agent 13 is set to join Captain America, along with the Winter Soldier, Falcon, Hawkeye, and Ant-Man. They are set to battle Iron Man's team, which is joined by Black Widow, War Machine, and Vision. There are no clear details with regard Scarlet Witch's role while Spider-Man's side is still unknown.
The Russos' "Captain America: Civil War" is slated to premiere in theaters in the United States on May 6, 2016.
