However, writer Chris Harkin reportedly claim that Spider-Man's appearance in "Captain America: Civil War" could only be reduced into a cameo in the film's post-credit scene. He cited the Marvel Studios and Sony's lack of introducing the film title of the 2017 solo reboot as several names for film has already been pitched such as "Spider-Man: The New Avenger" and "The Spectacular Spider-Man".

What makes writer's theory more interesting is that the post-credit scene in "Civil War" might feature Captain America being in jail, while Iron Man starts his new Initiative program to have all heroes registered. After the credits have been rolled out, Iron Man will hovering above New York city like he is looking for someone. Stark eventually finds what he is looking for in the form of Spider-Man as he is stopping criminals in the street. Iron Man lands next to Spider-Man and the two have a conversation about joining his Initiative and unmasking as well. Spider-Man reluntantly accepts, but he hits Iron Man with a web blast and swings away signifying his disinterest in his Initiative and goes into hiding, Moviepilot reported.

Marvel Studios has not yet confirmed that the Spider-Man hoodie could be part of the "Civil War" product mechandise due to its lack of label. Directors Joe and Anthony Russo did teased that "Spider-Man's" costume could have a "hard-core contemporary" look and Holland's look as Peter Parker will based on the "Ultimate Marvel comics" version.

Several rumored reports for the costume will have the classic red and blue color scheme, complete with webbed armpits and the fat spider logo.
