The LG G Flex 2 is an older device that has been around for almost a year, and it has been proven to be a great choice for those wanting top-notch handsets. However, Huawei comes up with the latest metal bodied mobile phone - the Huawei Mate 8 - that can compete with the other handset.

This is how the LG G Flex 2 and Huawei Mate 8 fare in a comparison.

  •  Design

The Huawei Mate 8 is effortlessly ahead, which can be held quite well with its gorgeous metal body that feels slippery (but not as slippery as compared to other metal devices). No single detail of the smartphone could describe it as a "cheap" phone because even the feel of holding it seems expensive. The fingerprint scanner of the handset is located at its rear. Color options for the device are gold, silver, gray and brown.

Meanwhile, the LG G Flex 2 comes with a plastic body with its curve that runs from top to bottom. The look of the smartphone may be a little odd, but it can also be a high point for the smartphone's aesthetic. Furthermore, it comes with a self-healing layer on the rear panel, which can eliminate scratches in a span of 10 seconds. The device, however, does not have a fingerprint scanner while color options are only red and silver.

  •  Display

Speaking about display size, the Huawei Mate 8 comes with a bigger 6.0-inches LCD display, 1080x1920P resolution and 368PPI density. Since Huawei Mate 8 has a built-in color temperature controls, users can opt if they want the screen as vibrant or as dull as they want.

The LG G Flex 2, on the other hand, is packed with a 5.5-inches P-OLED display with 1080x1920P resolution and 403PPI density. The smartphone's brightness in broad daylight is still quite great; however, the color of the screen has adequate saturation sometimes, which can still be adjusted via the phone's settings.

  •  Specs

The hardware of Huawei Mate 8 is faster with its HiSilicon Kirin 950 chipset plus Mali GPU and octa-core CPU. Remarkable things about Kirin 950 are the way the chipset manages power and no lag to be found, as it can run big games smoothly and open apps so fast.

Meanwhile, the LG device has a Snapdragon Qualcomm chipset with Adreno GPU and octa-core CPU. Just like Huawei Mate 8, G Flex 2 offers breeze performance in gaming and opening apps - thanks to its Snapdragon 810 chipset.

  •  Memory

Both devices offer memory slots which can go up to 128GB of external storage. The G Flex 2 can have either 2GB or 3GB of RAM, while the Mate 8 offers bigger RAM of 3GB or 4GB.

  •  Camera

The Mate 8 offers 16-MP with OIS, while the G Flex 2 has a 13MP camera with OIS.

  •  Price

The Huawei Mate 8 costs more with a price tag of $643 with no contract, while the LG Flex 2 is only priced at $399.
